In the book Lola and The Boy Next Door I liked the way the author described the setting. The book has a very descriptive setting which lets you really feel like you are there. One of the descriptions I like the most would be the descriptions of the houses and how they all are uniquely colored just like how unique the character is which her style of clothes and wigs.
Also the author Stephanie Perkins describes the characters to fit the setting which I really like. The area that Lola lives in is very colorful and happy just like her. Her boyfriend Max lives in a scarier part of San Francisco which fits his dark and mysterious personality. Lola's best friend lived is a normal suburban neighborhood in San Francisco which fits her average appearance and personality.
I also love the way that the author makes Lola adopted by her uncle and that Lola has blood ties to one of her dads. It also helps show that she gets her spunk from her mom which is her dad Nathan's sister Nora. It also keeps Lola's mom and the story and helps describe what Lola's past is.
